About Ward Hayden & The Outliers
Boston is one of America’s great music towns. But among the various styles the city is known for that have launched many musical acts to success and stardom, country music wasn’t a truly thriving genre there, that’s until singer, songwriter and guitarist Ward Hayden and his band The Outliers (formerly known as Girls Guns & Glory) sang and played their distinctive take on C&W with a rock’n’roll kick to the top of the Boston scene and a thriving, critically-acclaimed and highly-awarded career across America and in Europe.
About Swinging Steaks
Boston-based Americana rockers, Swinging Steaks, celebrate the release of "YoYo", their first new album of all-new material in nearly 20 years.
Co-produced by the group and Boston rock legend Dave Minehan (Neighborhoods, Replacements), "YoYo" features 11 original tunes from writers Jamie Walker, Tim Giovanniello and Jim Gambino. The sole cover was written by "Big" Al Anderson (x-NRBQ) and multi-platinum artist Chris Stapleton.
Cody Nilsen (Ward Hayden and the Outliers)guests on pedal steel and slide guitar. The first single, "Daydream", is accompanied by a video from indie animation artist, Wishbone Zoe.
The self-release of "YoYo" lands as the Steaks mark the 30th anniversary of "Southside of the Sky", their national debut on legendary Capricorn Records. Their last full-length, "Sunday Best", was released on Blue Rose Records (Germany) and First National Records (US) in 2004.
Comprised of virtually all original members (rounded out by Paul Kochanski on bass and 20-year vet "new guy" Andy Plaisted on drums), the Steaks live show offers audiences an opportunity to witness the magic of a band forged by over three decades together onstage. Reflecting their sheer joy of playing together, the Steaks dynamic, charismatic performance can't be fabricated.
